We all want to learn and be instructed by those who are teaching us the Word. Our instruction should be gentle, with it guiding us to a wonderful learning experience. How many times have you been to a place of worship and the preacher is yelling at you? This happens all most all the time with some of these houses of worship. Is this the correct way of teaching? The Bible tells us that we should be gentle, -And the servant of the Lord must strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient.2 Timothy 2:24 How much do you remember, after you hear all the rambling that goes on in the church? I only say this because, it is in the bible in how we are to teach one another the word of the Bible. It is written. Amen to the word of God.
Some things that man does is the complete opposite of what God says. The minister Joel Osteen, is a well spoken and eloquent speaker. He has a gentle delivery to the message that he is trying to convey. His message is well received because it is brought forth in a gentle manner. He uses storytelling and expressions that make the audience feel at ease and comfortable. This makes the congregation feel wholesome love from what he says. This is what the bible says we should do when are talking about God's word. - But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.-James 3:17
Sometimes things are said in a harsh tone as If scolding a child. What is more effective for a congregation who is only trying to gain knowledge of the Word. Clearly a more gentle approach is better and more memorable. Think about this the next time you are in study with someone and you want them to understand the message you are conveying. -But we were gentle among you even as a nurse cherisheth her children 1 Thessalonians 2:7
Thank you Father God for your word that we may receive it in Jesus name. We give thanks for your love and guidance. Amen.
