Family Matters

My Daughter Nicole and Milton
A few weeks ago, I was at home with my family. We were having a quiet evening, all of us siting around in the living room chatting. Our neighbor arrived home in her car and pulled up in our parking space. My daughter immediately had a reaction to this. "Uh I don't think so", she said.  She was looking out the window towards our neighbor Gabby (not real name). I thought what could be the problem.  I asked my daughter and she replied, that Gabby was in her parking space. My first reaction was to laugh at what she had just stated. Well if looks could knock my head off. It would have been knocked off and rolling down the street LOL!

I said to her. "You can't be serious? We don't even have a car to park there. What is the problem with her parking there"? I went on to say she is a nice girl and works very hard. Come on! My daughter rolled her eyes as at me, as if to say the infamous "Whatever" to me. I was thinking about what else to say. And she said, "I'm going to get some cones and put in the parking space."  I'm still thinking is she for real about this. Can she really be getting this upset over a parking space. I thought I would give the situation some humor and maybe it would blow over. So I suggested that instead of cones. She should take her bike outside and put it in the parking space. Well I got a laugh from everyone else. Yet, my daughter was still grumbling over something I felt, didn't think warrant this much attention.

Things calmed down after a bit and I was able to discuss with her, that worrying over something we are not using, really didn't make sense. Let's be nice to our neighbors, and if we treat others with kindness, they will more likely treat us the same.  (Don't be selfish; don't live to make good impression on others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourself. Don't think only about your own affairs, but be interested in others, too, and what they are doing). Philippians 2 3:4

In our lives with family and friends, not all are walking in Christ. Lead them by example of how you are trying to live. Whoever walks with wise will become wise; whoever walks with fools will suffer harm. Proverbs 13:20

Thank you Father God for these words. Let all who receive it be Blessed in Jesus Name. Amen

  1. Hi kemarias -

I'm confused. Has Nicole moved back to Florida?

You made some excellent points here. Very well stated.
