If you are single are looking to date? What are the resources that you use to date? This is a question I'm having to ask, mainly because I'm interested in Dating. Most of my friends and family members who are single have given up on dating. They to me have given up on living. No where in the bible have I seen it written that we should live alone. Yet this is what my single women friends and family are doing. Why? I can think of a few reasons why. They have been in relationships and for whatever reason it didn't work out. They were in abusive situation or the partner they were with cheated.
So as a single person are we supposed to give up on our lives. Are we to live a lonely existence for the rest of our lives. I've heard all the reasoning. "I don't have time for it". "I rather be by myself". "If God wants me to have somebody he will send me someone". This last one is what gets to me. How is he going to send someone to you? I'm talking about a particular person who said this, was a homebody type, who usually went to church, grocery store, and maybe a movie. And that is a maybe. Are they making excuses to why they are single? The answer is most definitely yes. I don't think you can just sit in your house and expect to meet someone. Maybe you can meet the UPS man or mailman.
Then you have those that say they have God and don't need anyone. Ok, I hear the words that are coming out your mouth. But do you really believe the words coming out your mouth! All I say to this is.. You have given up. I've decided contrary to what my friends and family are doing. I intend to live my life differently. I know I will have the naysayers out there waiting in the wings for disaster to happen. And it's not to say things won't happen in my pursuit of happiness. I'm filled with the word of God and being fed by my father everyday. I know that I'm loved by my heavenly father. However, this is just another part of why I was created to be here. This is another part of happiness in my life.
I was discussing dating with a family member and they asked a question. Do I think that some people are not really christian on dating sites. I think that no they aren't always telling the truth on these sites. And people in churches aren't always doing the right thing either. Another point made was, maybe they are going to this site looking for christian woman. Just like some men go to church looking for a woman they feel may be better then finding a woman on the street. This is true and it can work that way in both sexes.
With that being said, I'm making an informed decision. Now, I'm asking, what resources would you use to meet someone? Blind dates set up by friends. Chance meeting at a function or religious setting or maybe just use a dating site? Do you have any advice on this? God Bless you all
