I Call on the Lord

You may not know it but I have Graves Disease. I have another blog in which I write about my illness. I've had Graves Disease for over a year now. Or maybe I should say I was diagnosed a year ago. I don't actually know how long I had it. The symptoms started to occur with me and still I didn't recognize what it was. After being to the point were I was unable to walk without assistance. I went to see a doctor and there I found out what was going on. That being said, I was humbled by all of what I was going through.

I continue to pray for healing and I know God hears my prayers. I can now walk and use my arms to dress myself. I give thanks to God, he is worthy of my praise. Without him I can do nothing. I look to him for my strength and guidance. I was putting God on the back burner and that was not what I was suppose to be doing. Now I realize what he wants from me in my life. And so, I call on the Lord for his love endures forever for me. I am thanking him that I have joy in my heart and compassion for others. Don't doubt what God can do. Put your cares and worries to him and Believe in his word. Amen. Here is a Psalm that I read to thank him daily.

Psalm 103

Of David. 1 Praise the LORD, my soul;
   all my inmost being, praise his holy name.
2 Praise the LORD, my soul,
   and forget not all his benefits—
3 who forgives all your sins
   and heals all your diseases,
4 who redeems your life from the pit
   and crowns you with love and compassion,
5 who satisfies your desires with good things
   so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

 6 The LORD works righteousness
   and justice for all the oppressed.

 7 He made known his ways to Moses,
   his deeds to the people of Israel:
8 The LORD is compassionate and gracious,
   slow to anger, abounding in love.
9 He will not always accuse,
   nor will he harbor his anger forever;
10 he does not treat us as our sins deserve
   or repay us according to our iniquities.
11 For as high as the heavens are above the earth,
   so great is his love for those who fear him;
12 as far as the east is from the west,
   so far has he removed our transgressions from us.

 13 As a father has compassion on his children,
   so the LORD has compassion on those who fear him;
14 for he knows how we are formed,
   he remembers that we are dust.
15 The life of mortals is like grass,
   they flourish like a flower of the field;
16 the wind blows over it and it is gone,
   and its place remembers it no more.
17 But from everlasting to everlasting
   the LORD’s love is with those who fear him,
   and his righteousness with their children’s children—
18 with those who keep his covenant
   and remember to obey his precepts.

 19 The LORD has established his throne in heaven,
   and his kingdom rules over all.

 20 Praise the LORD, you his angels,
   you mighty ones who do his bidding,
   who obey his word.
21 Praise the LORD, all his heavenly hosts,
   you his servants who do his will.

22 Praise the LORD, all his works
    everywhere in his dominion.

    Praise the LORD, my soul.

  3. Hey Sister K! I don't know why, but I thought I was already following your blog!LOL! Anyway, I am now. God Bless you . I will add you to my prayers. I know we have an ABLE and MERCIFUL God who loves to heal us. I have seen His healing power many times not only for myself, but for others as well. Psalm 103 has been a favorite of mine for a long time, but I haven't been able to memorize much past the first couple of verses. My memory short term memory is really bad. Again, God Bless You

    Your Sister in Christ,

  8. Hey Kemarias! First of all, what a beautiful name. I love it. In reply to your comment on my blog, Isn't it sad that we have to learn the hard way? If we would just lean on God's wisdom from the beginning, everything would be so much simpler. Of course I'm not saying it wold be a bed of roses, but at least if we prayed about God's will for us a mate, He would steer us away from the wrong person. I know that addiction is a "spirit" and we are not to judge tht person, but at the same time we are suppose to flee from these kinds of spirits. OK, it's late and what I am trying to say is probably not comeing out very clear. Sorry. Anyway, It's just sad that we waste precious time trying to cope with this addict with the disillusion that we can help them. God is the only one who can do that and the person has to accept His help. I know, as I said, I've been there. I have been married 2 more times after the alcoholic and neither of them drink, so I figure I finally started taking God's direction. It's just sad because we as humans are dumb enough and arrogant enough to think that we know how to deal with situations better than God. We don't think that way consciously, but I know I ignored the signals God was sending me about my first husband. Oops! sorry about the book. I just get so wrapped up in certain subjects I don't know when to stop. Thank you so much for your comment. I hope you will come back soon.

    Good Bless,

    PJ

  9. Thank you PJ, about the name its a screen name combination of my whole name. Pretty cool eh? Anyway I been around the alcohol all my life and I drank myself more than I should have. I think your right about it being a spirit in people and taking over there lives. It's a unclean spirit and unless they are willing to get rid of it. It's not going anywhere and the spirit takes over their life. Leading to a path of destruction. No you can't change them. This I know All to well. My mom still lives with my father and she has been with him 55 years. What a sad life it has been. The children are the ones who get hurt in situations like this. That's my thought on the whole thing. Maybe we should start a thread on this abuse and abuser, something like that. Great talking to you PJ!
